Took the train from Zurich to Dijon and a second one to Besançon. At that point I needed to collect myself, so for one of the first times ever while walking, I had a mid-day meal of burger and fries in a bar by the train station. Having thus marked the transition back to walking mode, I set off in the rain.
The only items of note were while leaving Besançon. Here is their music/art/drama conservatory, a nice large new building.
And going out of town by an old passage hollowed out from the rock.
It feels very good to be walking again. I love taking breaks, especially when it is to see old and dear friends. But breaks also interrupt the rhythm of the walk. The other thing that happens - I start worrying. I need the immediacy of a day’s goal, a simple destination, to stay calm and collected.
