Today was happily spent visiting with Ariane’s family, plus a wander through downtown Graz. Here is the Mur river that the city grew around.
A clock - as the hours chime, two windows open up and these figures dance out and around.
The Maibaum, or May Tree, in Graz. This is one real tree; I’ve seen them in the forests and will take a photo if I see them again - super tall and straight with a tuft of branches high high up!
The modern art museum strikes a different note. Built in 2003, it is an example of “blob architecture “ and is nicknamed the “friendly alien” by city folk.
I also liked the look of this modern building. I think it has something to do with radio and communications.
