Such a comfortable apartment! My heavens, it’s hard to leave.
The very modern complex I’m in.
This morning I found the local market, two short blocks from here. Very exciting ! Happens every Thursday and Sunday. The food is wonderfully fresh and seems cheaper than the supermarkets (which are definitely more expensive than in Italy.)
There are three boulangeries-pâtisseries in the block around my apartment building. I had a good lunch of couscous in a restaurant about 50 metres from the front door. No danger of going hungry!
It started raining in the afternoon but the early evening was nice so out I went to make some more sense of where I’m staying. It is an easy walk to two of Paris’s main train stations, good to know in case I need to make a quick get-away. I wandered by the Théâtre Splendid and bought an impulse ticket to see ´Les crapauds fous’ by Mélody Mourey. This play talks about Poland in the Second World War and the true story of Polish doctors who staged a fake typhus epidemic to save people from being deported and killed. It was a clever mix of drama and comedy that thanks to excellent acting worked very effectively.
