A holiday here in Rome - All Saints’ Day. Theresa and I spent an awful lot of time sorting out our SIM card ( first of all she lost hers, then we found it on the street, then we had to walk a terribly long way to get help….) Anyway, we enjoyed very much an art collection assembled by the Cerasi family in the second half of the last century. We also whizzed by the Spanish Steps, the Vatican and Trastevere. Dinner at my favorite restaurant - like an Ernie’s but Italian. Fantastic pizza, bean stew, and a heavenly light cheesecake and tiramisu. And with that, buona notte!
I’ve included two somewhat mysterious paintings that we spent a long time contemplating : Guglielmo Janni, “Puppets, Self Portrait with his Mother”, 1934 and Felice Casorati, “The Studio” also 1934.
